A newly discovered iOS glitch is causing concern among iPhone users. According to recent reports, entering a specific sequence of characters can trigger an unexpected crash of the device’s user interface.

Security researchers have identified that typing “”::” followed by any other character in certain search fields can lead to a brief system malfunction. This unusual bug affects the Apple mobile user interface, known as Springboard, causing it to restart abruptly.

Investigations have shown that the issue occurs when these characters are entered into the Settings app’s search bar or the App Library search function, accessible by swiping to the far right of the home screen.
